Distance Learning Frequently Asked Questions
What is Distance Learning?
A Distance Learning Day at Fridley Public Schools refers to a school day where students engage in alternate educational activities while not in school. Learning materials for Distance Learning Days are developed and assembled by our classroom teachers for each grade.
Why have a Distance Learning?
Fridley Public Schools’ Distance Learning Days are implemented to allow for continuity for learning when schools have to close in response to unforeseen emergency or natural causes such as inclement weather. It is important for students to continue to learn even when they are out of school and Distance Learning Days learning activities are designed to keep students engaged academically.
What is the Purpose of a Distance Learning?
Fridley Public Schools Distance Learning Days allows for the district and schools to provide continued learning for students in the event schools are closed due to inclement weather or other natural disaster, or unforeseen emergency.
How does a student or family access Distance Learning materials?
Distance Learning Day learning materials are available through a website link on each of our school’s website. Hard copies of materials are also available to students to take home, and assignments will also be emailed to students and parents.
