According to Fridley High School dean Nicole Kaiser, the MnACC College Fair is an efficient and effective opportunity for students to explore many college options in one day.
“With 50 different colleges and a mix of two-year, four-year, and public and private colleges, our students can start to narrow down their college search,” said Kaiser. “Our goal is for students to take a look at the many options available and create a list of college campuses to visit.”
Kaiser said freshmen were excited about the fair, as this was a first chance for many to learn more from college representatives. She added that many 11th grade students also updated the colleges that they have chosen to send their ACT scores to.
MnACC is a post-secondary collaborative dedicated to improving access to higher education for Minnesota’s students of color. Member institutions are diverse, and include schools from Minnesota and its neighboring states. The collaborative also has a number of scholarship opportunities that Fridley High School students are able to apply for.
