In front of a packed audience of parents, teachers and schoolmates, the R.L. Stevenson Elementary Early Bird Choir held their holiday concert on December 6, 2018. The concert was held in the school’s gymnasium where the Choir performed Christmas classics like “Jingle Bell Rock,” “Everybody’s Going on a Sleigh Ride" and more.
“The dedication and love for singing was evident among all our Early Bird Choir members,” said Stevenson music teacher and choir director Jeremy Carlson. “Their bright and smiling faces at the concert really showed how much they loved what they were doing. I am very proud of each of them for putting on a spectacular show!”
The Early Bird Choir is comprised of 3rd and 4th grade students who rehearse twice a week before school. The December 6th performance was the culmination of the winter season. The upcoming spring season will begin in February with performances planned at the school’s Festival of Nations celebration, as well as singing the National Anthem at the Minnesota Twins baseball game during Memorial Day weekend.
