Giraffe Clip ArtHayes Elementary
, a Minnesota School of Excellence and an *International Baccalaureate Candidate School, serves students in Kindergarten through Fourth Grade. Our school offers a strong core curriculum, building a solid foundation for future learning.

Computer science, library skills, art, vocal music and physical education are all taught by teachers who are specialists in their field. We continually strive toward providing a nurturing, secure, child-centered environment where are children feel confident, successful, and capable of reaching their potential.

We are committed to providing an environment where:

• Differences are celebrated.
• Exemplary programs are developed, evaluated and improved.
• High expectations are clearly defined in terms of outcomes.
• Individual needs are met.

*Hayes Elementary is a candidate school for the International Baccalaureate Primary Years Programme (PYP). This school is pursuing authorization as an IB World School. These are schools that share a common philosophy—a commitment to high quality, challenging, international education that Hayes Elementary School believes is important for our students.
Only schools authorized by the International Baccalaureate Organization (IBO) as IB World Schools can offer any of its three academic programmes: the Primary Years Programme (PYP), the Middle Years Programme (MYP), or the Diploma Programme. Candidate status gives no guarantee that authorization will be granted.

Our Philosophy

At Hayes Elementary, we believe every student can learn. We believe in a positive and productive environment where all learning is valued. Students are given opportunities to grow in a creative, sensitive, and mutually respectful atmosphere, which fosters the importance of the individual.

A fundamental role of the school is to inspire all individuals, creating a desire for knowledge and a respect for learning. We expect children to be responsible for their actions and to be active participants in the learning process. Family involvement and community participation are essential components to a sound educational program. We recognize the dignity of each student and we provide educational opportunities to meet each child's unique needs.
