Standards-Based Grading
Final semester grades primarily involves an analysis of “Academic Achievement” scores, which account for 80% of the course grade. The remaining 20% of the grade is based on “Practice” work. Teachers will consider both recent scores, as well as patterns that have emerged, to determine the “best fit” score.
CLR SUMMER: Responsive Reads!
As teachers and students transition into the summer days this year, it is not without trepidation. Many of us may be limited to our homes and our families. A great way to escape boredom or confinement is to read! As a CLR educator, I encourage you to choose books that accurately and authentically represent our cultural communities. The following link is a great resource for finding books from some of the best culturally authentic authors, artist, and advocates. I hope you will find a book that will expand your empathy and understanding and fill your days with excitement and wonder. https://www.responsivereads.com/
Summer Strength and Conditioning
We are planning to have summer Strength and Conditioning beginning on June 15, 2020 for all students interested in grades 7-12. Hours will be 9-10:30am for boys and 10:30-12 noon for girls, Monday- Thursday. If a student has a need for an earlier or later time we will try to make exceptions for them. We will work out in groups of 9. Our plan is to be outside as much as possible, utilizing our wonderful green space. We are following the guidelines from the CDC, MSHSL, the state, and our school district with great consideration placed on social distancing and sanitizing. The cost will be $70.00, $25.00 if a student qualified for educational benefits from the Federal Free or Reduced lunch program.
REGISTRATION IS OPEN! Fridley.feepay.com We are looking forward to being able to work with the kids in person again this summer. Go Tigers!!
